Two or more people who jointly write or create a book, article, research paper, or other written work together as equal contributors.
Etymology
From 'co-' (together) + 'authors' (from Latin 'auctor' meaning originator or creator). This term became especially common in academic and scientific publishing where multiple researchers contribute to the same work.
