Definition
A genus of tropical and subtropical plants with small flowers and winged fruits, commonly found in African and Asian woodlands.
Etymology
From Latin, possibly derived from 'combrere' meaning 'to weave together,' alluding to the interlaced branches of these climbing plants.
Kelly Says
Combretum trees produce some of nature's most aerodynamic seeds with four papery wings, allowing them to drift miles from their parent tree like biological drones.
