Definition
A person who performs conjuration; a magician, sorcerer, or someone who summons spirits through magical means.
Etymology
From Latin 'conjurator,' one who swears together or performs conjuration, from 'conjurare' (to swear together), with the agent suffix '-or.'
Kelly Says
Medieval conjurators were treated like today's hackers—they claimed to access hidden systems (the supernatural) through special knowledge and spells, and society was equally terrified and fascinated by their apparent rule-breaking!
