Definition
Relating to or characteristic of a dromedary camel or the family of one-humped camels.
Etymology
Derived from dromedary (from Greek dromas, runner) plus the suffix -ian meaning 'of or pertaining to,' literally meaning 'of the running camel.'
Kelly Says
Dromedarians were specifically valued by Bedouin traders because they could cross deserts three times faster than other camels—their name literally means 'the runners' in Greek!
