In Hindu and Sanskrit tradition, the sun god, or the sun itself; also used in yoga (Surya Namaskar, 'sun salutation').

From Sanskrit 'sūrya' meaning 'sun.' The word comes from the ancient Indo-European root language and appears in various forms across multiple language families connected to sun worship.
