Definition
A whispering or murmuring sound; the act of whispering.
Etymology
From Latin 'susurratio' (whispering). The noun form of the whisper-family. A crowd's collective murmur is a susurration — thousands of private whispers becoming one sound.
Kelly Says
When a whole CROWD whispers at once — not any one voice but ALL of them together becoming a single shimmering hush! A forest of leaves, an audience before the show, ocean foam on sand — that collective whisper! 🗣ï¸ðŸƒ
