Yak

/jæk/ noun

Definition

Luxury fiber obtained from the soft undercoat of the yak, prized for its warmth, softness, and natural brown color variations.

Etymology

From Tibetan 'g.yag', the domesticated yak has provided fiber to Himalayan peoples for millennia. The finest fiber comes from the soft undercoat shed naturally each spring.

Kelly Says

Yak fiber is nature's ultimate cold-weather textile – it's warmer than sheep's wool, softer than cashmere, and naturally comes in gorgeous earth tones from cream to deep chocolate! Tibetan nomads have treasured this fiber for over 4,000 years, calling it 'khullu.'
